IMPORTANT! This home uses a septic system. Only septic safe toilet paper (we provide multiple rolls) should be flushed down the toilets. All other items must be disposed of in the provided trash cans (feminine hygiene products, flush-able wipes, tissues, etc.). If the septic system gets backed up during your stay because of flushing anything besides toilet paper, we cannot guarantee a quick resolution.

We will be providing shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as a hair dryer.

We have a washer and separate dryer. There is a supply of detergent for your use. To operate the machines, simply select the program you want, place the detergent in the tray, close the door, and hit start. If you need additional detergent pods, please ensure you purchase ones that are septic safe.

IMPORTANT! Do not place any bleach or other chemicals as this will back up the septic system.

There is an Iron and Ironing Board in the main floor hallway closet.

Air Conditioning and Heating

Our home has mini-split system for air conditioning and heat. You will find a remote for each bedroom and Living room area that allows you to control the temperature of each room. If you’re visiting in cooler months and running the heat, please ensure that all windows and outside doors are closed to ensure it operates to maximum efficiency. If you need to use the heat, we recommend a setting of 74F which we find keeps the place at a comfortable temperature.

You're on a Lake and in the woods

We love that our house is on the lake and by the woods and all the peace that this offers our guests. However, the lake and woods also bring the potential for wildlife. Although we do our best to prevent any pests, wood roaches, ants, and spiders are endemic to Northern Michigan and common in the summer months, as well as the potential for other animals to roam around outside! Please keep all doors closed when not entering or exiting to try to minimize any unwanted visitors getting into the house.
